On Friday, the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds signed four agreements on the allocation of non-refundable 105 million HRK for the establishment of regional centers of competence in vocational education, including the Center of Competence in Koprivnica-Križevci County worth 30 million HRK. The signing of the contract on behalf of Koprivnica-Križevci County was attended by Deputy Prefect Ratimir Ljubić accompanied by associates and members of the Project Team and the principal of the Trade School Koprivnica Zlatko Martić who signed the contract with Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Marko Pavić.
The project "Competence Center in Koprivnica-Križevci County" will reconstruct, upgrade and equip the building of the Trade School Koprivnica and the building of the partner institution of the Vocational School Đurđevac. The total value of the project is HRK 30,021,538, and it should be noted that out of the total amount, only HRK 21,538 will be co-financed by the beneficiaries, ie the Trade School Koprivnica, which is also the project applicant together with the project partners Koprivnica-Križevci County and Đurđevac Vocational School with the expert assistance of PORA Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica-Križevci County.
The signing of the contract was also attended by Minister of Science and Education Blaženka Divjak and Assistant Minister of Vocational Education Vlado Prskalo, who congratulated the users, emphasizing that the competence centers will provide better quality teaching and space for students to acquire new knowledge and skills needed in the labor market.
The County Competence Center will strengthen the relevance of vocational education by improving conditions in the electrical engineering and computing sector of vocational education in order to achieve greater employability of students, and improve the infrastructure of the regional center of competence in vocational education in accordance with labor market needs at the regional level at the same time intensifying cooperation with similar institutions throghout the EU.
Let us mention that in addition to the Center of Competence in Koprivnica-Križevci County, two centers at the Karlovac Technical School and a center that will be established at the Catering School in Opatija also received funds.
